Since 2008, Alan “Rhythmics” Betancourt has been moving up the ranks in the European UK Hardcore scene, and is quickly being recognized as one of the leading UK Hardcore producers in the USA.

His father introduced him to synthesis, MIDI, and analog recording at a young age, and as a result, Rhythmics has been in the studio for most of his life. In the late 90’s, he grew an avid fascination with hip hop and house, and bought his first pair of turntables and a mixer at 16. His persistence and dedication to the art of mixing was well received by the Miami community, and he quickly gained a reputation as being one of the youngest DJ’s in the scene.

He began dabbling in music production soon after, producing hip hop beats and minimal grooves. Eventually he would be lead to the harder sounds of dance music, where he quickly feel in love with UK Hardcore music through artists such as Darren Styles, Gammer, Sy, and Al Storm. From there he started producing the unique and energetic genre, and hasn’t looked back since.

Rhythmics is a signed artist on UK label Hardcore Underground, and has worked with scene-defining talent such as Fracus and Darwin. He also manages the net label Betamuse, which has signed artists from all over the world, from up and comers to big names alike. As his signings and bookings grow, so will the future for this rising star.

He knew that Rhythmics had experience in producing the genre, so he approached him for advice on how to make it. This lead to Charm’s first experience with FL studio, which he still uses today.

After several months of production, Charm found interest in mixing through various Japanese and UK Hardcore compilations.
